Game Designer
My contribution to the project:
- I was in charge of the Game Design Document.
- Designing all the activities.
- Early prototyping of one of the activities (Space Trash Recovery Simulator).
- Balancing of the Space Trash Recovery Simulator activity.
The Bridge is a compilation of augmented reality mini-games for the new branch of the Deutsches Museum in Nürnberg.
The idea is to make all those exhibitions that don’t allow any interaction from the visitors to be more interactive. I worked as a game designer creating all the activities present in the prototype -with the help of my teammates of course. The game is for android and uses the phone's camera to scan different objects.

By locating these scannable items/displays in the different exhibitions, a minigame is unlocked related to that same exhibit. The search for each minigame will push visitors to explore every item on display and can serve as a tool to teach people how some of the stuff in the museum works.

The minigames should represent something on the showcases, that’s why we came up with games that are related to real-life technologies that we think the museum might present when it opens.
The Bridge

Space Trash Recovery Simulator
The player will take control of a garbage collection satellite on the orbit of the earth. The objective is to get as many pieces of trash from the orbit -using gyro controls- before the fuel runs out, there are score multipliers for getting stuff that’s very far away from the player, as well as ways to recover fuel. The game has a leaderboard functionality that allows you to compare your score with your friends.

Machine Learning Labyrith
The player will create a level and the AI will try to solve it as fast as possible. The AI will go through different generations. The idea is to show the visitors how a machine learning AI learns how to solve a puzzle they’ve made, making them more familiar with a topic that might seem a little too daunting for the average joe to grasp.

Comment Space
The visitors will be able to leave messages virtually in pre-defined spaces so that the other visitors can read them. This is more of an activity instead of a game. Still, we thought it was a good opportunity to encourage visitors to leave feedback for the museum. This can also be used as an advertising tool outside of the museum, attaching it to posters, images, etc.

Try it out
If you're curious, you can try the space trash collection game here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/16RqNDo3p2qX_LfQwSAxzszImSs1NQSon

Sadly, the machine learning and the comment space activities will not be available.
